One of Phil Barry`s latest enterprises is Tacklebox Productions. The company specialises in gay films and has just teamed up with Pacific Sun Entertainment to bring its product to the American market.

The deal covers distribution of Tacklebox content on all channels, DVD distribution, video on demand and pay-per-view etc. With more than 70 titles in its portfolio already there`s plenty to work with.

Time will tell if director John “Moggy” Mason`s films will find an audience in the US.

Cathy Barry, wife of Phil, makes a cameos appearance in ‘Fantasy Fucks: Dreams Can Cum True` one of the first titles to be released by Tacklebox in the US.

James, the founder and proprietor of Dirty Fukker Underwear was kind enough to answer a few questions about the brand and its very in-your-face image.

Alex: How did DF start?

James: DF started when I the company I worked for in Camden closed and I wanted to do something for myself. I had a background in design and my housemate [who] was really into underwear said I should design him something for him. So I did and it went from there.

Alex: I hesitate to ask but where did the name come from?

James: He was never home, the boxer briefs have a condom pocket, the name just followed naturally.

Alex: LOL. So, how long have you been creating underwear?

James: It been about 2 ½ years now.

Alex: Who creates the designs for DFU?

James: I create all the designs for DFU.

Alex: So, anything new in the pipeline?

James: There`s a new Punk design coming out in the next few weeks, my reference to the great time I had working in Camden.

Alex: Sounds interesting, I`ll keep my eye out for them. Who are you aiming DF Underwear at? What`s your target demographic?

I`m not aiming at any market specifically. My target demographic is guys that want fun sexy underwear.

Alex: What are your best sellers?

The best seller by far has been the Jocks. We started out making Boxer Briefs and then due to customer demand produced a Jock and it has been a massive hit.

Alex: Do you see DF as a brand for boutiques or as something that like FCUK could end up in the large chains?

James: The DF brand is available worldwide in a number of independent stores, but I have been approached by a couple of high street chains who have shown interest. I suppose it all depends on how brave the buyer`s feeling.

Alex: LOL. Given that you`ve yet to get them on the rails at M & S. Where can people buy your products?

James: In the UK you can get the DF line from Quake for Men in Northampton, Oh La La in Barnsley, Fetish Freak in London to name a few we`re hoping to get into the new DV8 store in Soho when it opens and there`s also a list of stockists world wide at www.dirtyfukkerunderwear.com.

You may not agree with me here but when the news that Andrew Sachs hit the headlines for being the poor innocent victim of a answerphone message by Jonathon Ross and Russell Brand I was a taken aback by their lack of consideration and respect and possible slurring of the Sachs family.

However as time has gone by and I have read and researched the whole affair it appears to be more than a prank call causing distress. Georgina Baillie who is the centre of the conversation which took place during the Russell Brand radio show has now emerged as a burlesque performer, perhaps wannabe pornstar and performer in a stage show called Satanic Sluts.

Not quite whiter than white. And as most of the perceived harmful conversation centred around her and the fact that Russell fucked her being such a shock, I`m beginning to wonder if Mr Sachs was aware of the fact that his granddaughter is an apparent pornstar and appears to be a bit of a media tart.

I`m sure Andrew is intelligent enough to realise that his granddaughter moves in adult circles and therefore would not be so hurt by the comments which were left on his answerphone, at least not to the degree that has been portrayed.

I think the whole thing has damaged the future of adult entertainment on the BBC and the possibility that any ground-breaking material may be featured in the future. I like to think of the BBC as being innovative but now we may just see shades of grey. Producers shy away from subjects they perceive to be dangerous – they are almost as easily spooked as city traders.

And in contrast, Georgina, whom we have never heard of before this story broke is now probably one of the most sought after adult entertainers. Fantastic PR Max, you now own some prime meat.
