For over six years individuals and couples around the world have been quietly and not so quietly writing about their sex lives online. Some of these bloggers are known across the globe, the majority only within their own small circle of friends.

After a flowering of interest surrounding a few lauded individuals sex blogging has slipped quietly off the media radar in recent years. That was until the “outing” of Belle De Jour, now known to be Dr Brooke Magnanti of Bristol University.

Alex Parker, webmaster of AdultBlogHub.com (Including the Sex-Press Feed directory) one of the web’s most popular sex blog directories has stated, “Since the outing of Dr Magnanti our traffic has increased about 20%. This whole Belle De Jour story has re-ignited interest in sex blogging.” Parker went on to say, “Many people are realising that they can get their erotic fix for free online, and that there are places on the Web where they can find erotic writing about every nuance of sexuality.”

This increase in the use of blog directories and the Googling of the search term “Sex Blog” may be a short term blip before sex blogging fades back into the landscape of the blogosphere again. Or could it be the renaissance of adult writing on the Internet.

Since taking over at Adult Blog Hub we`ve been trying to make changes to the site to improve it and how it serves its members. The most obvious change was the initial colour scheme update. Since then a number of internal changes have been taking place, the visible signs of which are just appearing.

Members will probably have noticed the “bulletins” box that has appeared on the member home page. This allows us to send you bulletins about your account and general messages without having to bug you with emails. We`ll be expanding this feature and our use of it in the future to bring you even more features.

However, there`s still a lot to do. There are the Search Screens and Quick Links which need attention, and a whole raft of other jobs that week, by week we`ll be addressing.

So, if you have any suggestions for improvements while we`re at it …

Before I forget, we added a new category to the site “Services” specifically for those bloggers who offer personal services and whose blog is very much a vehicle for those services.

Since taking over Adult Blog Hub we`ve been making changes to it. This process is quite painstaking and will continue for a while yet.

What you will have seen if you`re familiar with the old site is that there are now multiple categories into which we are re-categorising sites to ensure that everything is easy to find.

One problem a lot of people seemed to be having with the old setup was getting the right links back to the site. Particularly if they were using the posting and toplist sections. We`ve now made that easier by creating a customised links page for each site.

All members will be receiving an email over the coming weeks as we review each site and ensure it is in the correct category. We`d be really grateful if you adjust your links to comply with this new setup. It will help our readers find you better and ensure that the section you`re in receives more visitors. Which in turn means you will receive more visitors.
