I recently reviewed some Dirty Fukker underwear on Sex Toys Buzz. You can read the review here.

James, the founder and proprietor of Dirty Fukker Underwear was kind enough to answer a few questions about the brand and its very in-your-face image.

Alex: How did DF start?

James: DF started when I the company I worked for in Camden closed and I wanted to do something for myself. I had a background in design and my housemate [who] was really into underwear said I should design him something for him. So I did and it went from there.

Alex: I hesitate to ask but where did the name come from?

James: He was never home, the boxer briefs have a condom pocket, the name just followed naturally.

Alex: LOL. So, how long have you been creating underwear?

James: It been about 2 ½ years now.

Alex: Who creates the designs for DFU?

James: I create all the designs for DFU.

Alex: So, anything new in the pipeline?

James: There`s a new Punk design coming out in the next few weeks, my reference to the great time I had working in Camden.

Alex: Sounds interesting, I`ll keep my eye out for them. Who are you aiming DF Underwear at? What`s your target demographic?

I`m not aiming at any market specifically. My target demographic is guys that want fun sexy underwear.

Alex: What are your best sellers?

The best seller by far has been the Jocks. We started out making Boxer Briefs and then due to customer demand produced a Jock and it has been a massive hit.

Alex: Do you see DF as a brand for boutiques or as something that like FCUK could end up in the large chains?

James: The DF brand is available worldwide in a number of independent stores, but I have been approached by a couple of high street chains who have shown interest. I suppose it all depends on how brave the buyer`s feeling.

Alex: LOL. Given that you`ve yet to get them on the rails at M & S. Where can people buy your products?

James: In the UK you can get the DF line from Quake for Men in Northampton, Oh La La in Barnsley, Fetish Freak in London to name a few we`re hoping to get into the new DV8 store in Soho when it opens and there`s also a list of stockists world wide at www.dirtyfukkerunderwear.com.

At the passion show we found ourselves surrounded by a huge range of products, from vibrators to video, and as it turns out corsets to chain mail gloves on the Engineers of Desire stand.

I spoke to Cas, the creative talent behind the Engineers Of Desire Name.

She told us, “I am the designer and maker of most of the stuff you can see here. All the corsetry and leatherwear is all my work.”

I asked where she learned the skills which make her creations possible. “Well, I`m self taught … I trained as a metalworker and in jewellery and you can still see elements of that in my work. I started getting into the fetish scene, and really into corset wearing and started making them myself.”

That did not surprise me as we often find that the craftspeople who create these wonderful objects in leather, metal, rubber and PVC originally do so because they can`t find what they want in the market place already.

When I asked exactly what sort of fetishes Cas was in to she replied with an impish smile “Body piercing, tattoos … ” I got the feeling that list might not be exhaustive.

Some of the items on the EoD stand were quite pricey so I asked if customers are put-off by the higher priced but unquestionably beautiful items. “There is a lot of corsetry on the market, the [mass produced] and the hand made. People know the difference when they see it and they like it.”

The difference is in the unusual details and forms. I asked Cas where she derived her inspiration from. “I don`t know … at work, in the workshop, things just come to me. I work with Nico, my partner and a lot of it is just our personal taste.”

I had to ask – how much does one of the EoD corsets cost? “They start at £175 – up to £300 for one of these natural grained wild animal leather. The leather is from animals culled in northern Europe. For custom work it`s £400-£500.”

The fetish community are very visually aware, clothing for them can be very important, so do the buyers of custom items approach Cas and Nico with ideas of their own? “The people who come to me like my work and then we work together on [the item]. When they come in I can see the shape and style of the person and from there we work together [on a piece].”

The gallery on the EoD site shows how imaginative their work is. The quality of each creation is of the highest order, making each piece beg to be worn.

For Your Nymphomation is a company that Suze discovered and mentioned on AlexSuze a while ago. The company produce a range of products specifically for the adult market.

As their site says:

“For Your Nymphomationâ„¢ (FYN) storage cases are designed to discreetly hide your ‘pleasurables’ – e.g. condoms, sex toys, pornographic magazines & DVDs, floggers, and other adult novelties. Parents can now be relieved to have a locking case to hide their adult items from their children.”

Now, we already use a suitcase to store our most used sex toys, but that does has its drawbacks as the toys are simply floating around in the case, un-retained. As for the FYN products however:

“Our BDSM collection is designed to store your paddles, floggers, canes, and other larger items … All of our storage cases are constructed of faux leathers with water-resistant nylon linings, both of which easily wipe clean with soap and a wet cloth if a lotion or lube gets spilled.”

All very practical and from the look of the items displayed on the site, very well thought-out. The prices are reasonable too, nice to see when so often anything that`s perceived to be “specialist” usually has a hefty percentage added to the ticket price.

Sadly because the company is in the US we haven`t been able to get our hands on any of the products to road test. However if we do we`ll be sure to return to For Your Nymphomation in future.

I wrote a while back on AlexSuze about my decision to go out and buy a collar for myself. We didn’t have a lot of spare cash at the time, nothing changes there then. Lol

So I decided the best place to acquire one would be from the local pet superstore. It would also be an adventure and a bit of a thrill, shopping amongst pet owners for a collar for me whilst pretending it was for the dog.

There was one problem, I wouldn’t be able to try the collar on. We found a way around this but I can’t remember what it was now, it was so long ago. It’s not like you can just take one off the rack and try it on.

I spotted the one I wanted quite soon after finding the dog collars isle. It was a lovely bright red leather one and the leather was reasonably soft. How times have changed.

You can now find a wonderful range of collars online and whilst surfing the net today I came across this one. Radiance Bound may not be your hardcore BDSM supplies site but they do have a wonderful range of collars ranging from the gothic to the spiked choker.

They are a developing company who specialises in collars and cuffs but plans to move in to masks, sets and they promise a few surprises. This is what they have to say on their site:

The Montcler family have been trading out of London for over 150 years, though unlike some established companies they`re not afraid to move into new markets. Using the expertise the firm has in other forms of PVC clothing they have started to produce fetish ware.

The Montcler Classics range of PVC fetish clothing is more subtle than some that we`ve seen. I`d love to see some close up because the materials used seem to be tailored (can you use that term for PVC?) very skilfully.

There range includes skirts, dresses, rainwear and “outfits” like the maid/wench outfit pictured. They incorporate a plain and patterned, opaque and translucent PVC to produce designs that deserve to be a hit with PVC lovers.

Some of the patterned garments are not so easy on the eye, but they are eye-catching. But every item in their range makes me want to reach out and have a feel. Of the clothes you naughty people, though if they are being modelled by the one you love (or lust after) I`m sure it wouldn`t stop there. The texture of PVC … mmmm … and so practical being easy to clean.

The cynic in me says that if you really want to promote your product get it banned. The Sex Pistols stayed at the top of the UK Charts with God Save The Queen in 1977 and it made their reputations. Even though the BBC wouldn`t even admit it was the top selling single and listings in the newspapers left a blank rather than print he name of the single and group.

Today I can see Prince Harry dancing to the track at his wedding … but then again he did turn up to a party in the most ill-considered fancy dress uniform possible. How times change.

What I`m actually talking about is the report that Google has apparently banned some of the ads supplied by Pampered Passions because they were “Too sexy”. One is embedded in this post, the rest are here, but if that`s as explicit as it gets then I`m wondering what century Google is living in. The first century AG (Anno Google) I suppose.

According to Pampered Passions “Google`s refusal to show ads that are completely acceptable to UK audiences on their network is turning out to be an increasingly frequent occurrence. Google are an American company and while they might seem to be really ‘cool` and ‘liberal` in the USA, their policies do seem rather conservative for European consumers. An outright ban on ads no ruder than a Christmas cracker joke & featuring less flesh than a swimwear catalogue seems pretty ‘uncool` to us”

It certainly made laugh and of course write this post, so whatever the reasons for this apparent over zealous Google censorship Pampered Passions got their coverage.

You might even begin to wonder if Pampered Passions had deliberately crossed the line with the ads to create a furore. Surely not.

Browsing the web you will find a huge number of people trying to sell you something. Sadly what they are selling is rarely unique and original. Even the most creative of web sites often sell products or creations little different from those available elsewhere on the web. There are certain themes which recur, not always a bad thing, but sometimes lacking in originality.

Then occasionally you come across a site that shows you something one step beyond what is normally available. Or in the case of AMF Korsets, huge strides beyond what you`ll see elsewhere.

AMF Korsets don`t just create corsets, there are collars, wings, masks and items that while classified as one of the above don`t really seem to fit into those categories. They are creations of an inspired mind, some might say a tortured mind. I can`t look at them without thinking Tsubasa, Giger, Bruegel even.

Take for example his work, “The Four Pony Girls of The Apocalypse”. Is famine a commentary on the ultra-skinny models favoured on today`s catwalks? Or is it just a great corset and piece of clubwear. I find myself not really caring in many respects as some of the pieces on the site are staggeringly beautiful, appealing to my goth leaning and macabre aesthetic tastes.

I find myself getting lost in this site, partly because the navigation can be a little hit and miss, but mainly because I constantly want to see more of this guy`s work. Wearable art is a phrase used on the index page and I can`t disagree, these are pieces that would hold their own in any exhibition and are practical (in the right setting) as items of clothing. OK, so you wouldn`t wear them to the office, but you might wear them to an interview, LOL.

I`m a big believer that in most cases lex parsimoniae, the simplest solution is the best. Although there are some fantastic sex toys out there, sophisticated and innovative, often the most satisfying of experiences comes from the simplest of things. When we were at the Adult Only Show in Birmingham I visited the Fairy Goth Mother stand. I say I, as Suze was tied up with Anna Span. Maybe that wasn`t the best way of putting it but I now have an interesting mental image to treasure. LOL. No I mean she was talking to Anna so I wandered off to cover some fresh ground while they were chatting.

I didn`t spend much time at FGM as the staff were run off their feet, and it`s not surprising.

Fairy Goth Mother is a site that I would love to be able go mad on this Christmas and spoil Suze rotten. The clothing is theatrical and glamorous, obviously with a gothic feel, but more than that. The clothing is beautiful in itself, but it also emphasises what beautiful creatures women are.

We`ll have to pop down to their shop one day and give you the real low-down, but until then, have a look round their site and enjoy the picture a I took.
