Inaugural UK Adult Awards

Kerry Louise ShaftaTelevisionX’s answer to the Oscars and the Baftas, the Shaftas took place on the 24th of last month and we received this from them about the bash:

On Wednesday 24th February the cream of the crop of the UK Adult Industry gathered under one roof to celebrate all that’s good in British porno. Television X hosted their SHAFTA awards in central London and honoured the best producers and horniest pornstars. A lot of time and thought went into choosing all the nominees for the 2010 Television X SHAFTAs and it was very hard narrowing it down to just five per category. Everyone that was nominated was truly deserving of the award. It was then left up to the Television X audience, of which 5000 voted, the first time that the public had full control over the outcome of an adult award.

It was quite an intimate affair and everyone that came along seemed to have a great time. From Angel Long’s acceptance speech proclaiming she loves anal, to Damian Duke admitting that he couldn’t sit down for a week after his Most Outrageous scene for Calling The Shots, there were no bum notes hit all day!!

Winners were cheered, tears were shed and fellatio was simulated with the golden-cock-shaped SHAFTA.

Girls of the day Syren Sexton and the Pure XXX team made up from Angel Long and Laura Macrow as they were seen clutching armfuls of awards as both managed to pick up two gongs each. Pure XXX is a totally female adult production company and their win today definitely puts them up with the big boys! Television X stalwart Portway Films not only scooped Best Interracial Series for Keisha Kane Extreme and Insane but Most Outrageous Sex Scene as well. It was Portway’s Ric Porter’s first ever adult industry award despite being in the business for 15 years and it’s well deserved!

Porno veterans Shagnasty and Muttley were in attendance as was the beautiful Havana, the sexy Sasha Rose and stud Pascal. It wasn’t just the performers who were on hand to cheer on their fellow winners as many of our producers came along as well. Scummy Mummies director Nigel Night was seen chatting to teen starlet and Asbo Trash Whores star Satine Spark, Mummy Mia director Andy Ide was sat with Greek stud Demetri XXX and Best Series winner Kaizen XXX was pleased to be thanked by Female Performer Of The Year Syren Sexton in her acceptance speech.

ShaftaSadly, SHAFTA-winners Tanya Tate, Kerry Louise and Jim Slip were not able to join us on the day due to filming commitments but all took a moment out of their busy schedule to send us acceptance speeches.

Italian Courts Set Dangerous Precedent With Google Convictions

Posted by Alex | In The News, Law and Legislation | Wednesday 24 February 2010 10:11 pm

Everyone has to agree that the use of tube sites to upload videos that promote or depict illegality is something that has to be stamped on hard. Whether it’s copyright theft, bullying or violence uploading videos that are known to infringe laws accepted the world over is just plain wrong.

There is of course a responsibility on the part of a site’s operators and hosts to take reasonable measures to moderate and remove unsuitable content however the ruling handed down in Milan today is seen even by critics of Google as overstepping the mark.

Three individuals, David Drummond, Peter Fleischer and George Reyes were found guilty of failing to comply with Italy’s Privacy Code by not obtaining the permission of the subject of a video for it to be shown.

The reasons for their failure to do so is obvious to most people. Millions of videos are uploaded to sites like YouTube each day and it is impossible to pre-view them all.

In this case the subject of the video was being bullied, presumably at least in part because he suffers from Downs Syndrome. It is not in dispute that the video should not have been uploaded and that its content was repugnant, what is in question is what regulating authorities and the operators of websites that allow user generated content to be uploaded should do about it.

Even an organisation with the might and manpower of Google does not have the resources to screen hundreds of thousands of videos every day before they are released for public viewing. And if the law is changed to require only “approved” videos to be uploaded the tube sites would all pull down the virtual shutters and cease operating.

Inherent in what is often called “Web 2.0”, defined by the ability of users to incorporate their own content into existing sites, is the danger that someone will abuse the powerful tools put at their disposal. If you want ever increasing levels of interactivity, mash-ups and an abundance of creativity you have to accept that a minority of undesirables will sour things for everyone else.

The decision has been described by Google as “ludicrous” and a “chilling decision”. Indeed it is because it seeks to invalidate the clause found in the terms of service of sites such as YouTube that until now have absolved the site of responsibility for the content and placed the responsibility on the user should an upload break the law.

The implications for adult sites and particular adult tube sites could be grave. They thrive on user generated content and even the most successful can not hope to field the resources, both legal and financial, that Google can to defend their operations.

Google and many commentators hope that the decision will be overturned on appeal. If it isn’t Google might pull the plug on Italy and cease operating any of its services in the country to avoid further clashes with a judicial system that seems not to understand or refuses to accept the realities of the Web.

It’s Raining Men

I love it when someone in the public eye does something that seems so out of their professional character that you start to question how much your really know about them.  Especially when they do something saucy.  Lol

Recently Jane Hill one of the BBC’s most prolific news correspondents revealed herself to be gay and took us all by storm, not that there is a problem with being with being gay.  You just didn’t expect her to come out.

And in today’s news Tomasz Schaffenacker has posed for the front cover of Attitude magazine which serves the gay community, although they claim that it features both gay and straight people.  He joined the BBC in 2000 and became the youngest weatherman at the age of 22.

I must say that Tomasz will never been viewed in the same way again when he appears on our screens to present the weather.  He has obviously hidden those pecs well and now he’s creating some warm fronts of his own.  ;)

This now opens up the question “Is Tomasz gay?” or can we ladies still believe we are in with a  chance? The magazine is obviously teasing us all with the hookline “BBC weatherman reveals his stunning secret”.

I’m going to have to take a sneaky peek at a copy next time in WH Smiths.

Ron Jeremy Attacks Violent Video Games

Posted by Alex | Adult Stars, In The News, New Media | Saturday 16 January 2010 9:38 pm

Ron Jeremy was a huge hit with the attendees at the CES Show in Vegas. Not surprising as it would be difficult to believe that the people at the CES did not wander across to at least one of the AVN show venues.

However while sitting on a discussion panel at the CES Ron Jeremy’s views on Internet porn raised a few eyebrows.

“Parents can block this stuff and need to stop blaming porn for a bad case of parenting,” he went on to say. “Parents should watch what their kids are doing online and take some responsibility. Don’t blame us. We have disclaimers, age notifications and software blockers. We are doing our bit.”

Ron of course is right. When it comes to responsible, legal porn sites they do take their responsibilities seriously because of the purest of motivations. Money. Porn turns over billions of dollars each year and to ensure that law enforcement agencies do not find a reason to shut you down has sound commercial benefits. Despite being the hub of Internet porn The US has some very conservative views, held by people throughout its society, most importantly in the legislature and in law enforcement. Right wing religious groups add their weight to numerous campaigns to pursue porn sites in general so being squeaky clean and exceeding, not just meeting standards set by local laws in good business practice.

Craig gross however did raise a valid point.

“The internet has changed the game completely,” said Gross. “What we used to have to work hard to find, you now have to work hard to avoid. For the most part, kids are smarter about technology than their parents. That has to change.”

The next generation of parents may face the same problems, despite being Internet savvy, because it all comes down to moving the age verification mechanisms on to sites and away from browsers, which a determined teenager will do everything they can to bypass.

Unregulated and sick porn will always be available but the porn industry and governments working together to lock down legal sites and prevent access by under-age visitors frees investigative resources can be focused on the illegal and exploitative purveyors of porn.

Sexting And Child Protection Concerns

The increased use of new media and communications methods by even the youngest members of our society has opened up new worlds of possibilities for everyone. It has of course lead to some people seeking to exploit these new methods of communication for their own ends. Fear about online grooming of children is rightly making parents nervous.

But now The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) is renewing its warnings to children and their parents about the dangers of Sexting – sending sexually explicit or suggestive texts and images of themselves via mobile phones.

There are two issues they seek to highlight. First the loss of control that sending a text or image creates. Once sent an individual has no say in who it is forwarded to and how it is used. The implications of this loss of control may not be immediately apparent to the sender and have potentially grave consequences should the content of the messages appear in the public domain. The potential for bullying and embarrassment are huge.

Secondly is that sending such texts and images to a minor is a criminal act, even if the sender is also a minor.

You can read the press release here.

More information on this and related subjects aimed at kids can be found here.

“Abortion Pill” Approved For Use In Italy

Mifepristone molecule

Mifepristone molecule

In a controversial move Italy’s drug regulation agency, Italian Pharmaceuticals Agency (AIFA), has approved the prescribing of the morning after pill RU486, otherwise known as Mifepristone.

The pill, which causes the uterus to reject an implanted embryo, does have side effects so ensuring it is only used under medical supervision will safeguard the welfare of the women who take it. However religion, specifically the Catholic Church, is seeking to make it impossible for any practicing Catholic, Doctor or patient to administer or take Mifepristone by threatening them with excommunication.

In reality this announcement by the Vatican of the consequences of being associated with RU486 only affects a small proportion of the medical profession as 70% or Italian Doctors already refuse to carry out abortions and would presumeably regard Mifepristone in the same way.

Get Naked Bikini – The Water Soluble Bikini

Get Naked Bikini

Have you ever been dumped? Felt like you needed to get your own back on her?

Stop!

Revenge is a bad thing, no really it is. It makes you a bad person, you should turn the other cheek, forgive the lover who dumped you, move on with your life … O h, who are we kidding!

If you feel that your ex-girlfriend deserves a little embarrassment for the pain she caused you why not buy her a bikini which dissolves in water? Imagine the embarrassment when she finds herself naked at the beach or in the swimming baths.

Hilarious, no?

Well while the idea of the dissolving bikini is certainly interesting it does pose the question “Wouldn’t you be suspicious if after an acrimonious split your ex bought you a prezzie?”

Nonetheless an interesting product.

We spotted this story on the Internet but had to dig around a little to find out who actually sells this product. If you are interested you can purchase one from “The Revenge Shop” here.

National Orgasm Day T-Shirt

“I’m tired” has taken over “I’ve got a headache” as the number one excuse people use to avoid getting jiggy.

A recent survey by sextoys.co.uk has revealed tiredness as the number one reason to get out of bedroom antics with the excuse getting over half of the votes.

“I need a shower,” “The kids will hear us” and “I don’t have time” were other popular answers. And just over 5% admitted using “My partner will be home soon” as a reason.

Rachel Foux, sextoys.co.uk sexpert blames the effects of the recession and women trying to have it all, as key factors for people’s waning libidos.

“Tiredness, stress and anxiety are our biggest enemies when it comes to bedroom exploits, says Rachel Foux. If more people said yes to their partner rather than make excuses, we would actually be a more relaxed nation as sex is actually a stress buster and releases endorphins to the brain.”

Due to the recession people are working harder and are under more pressure, especially those with their own businesses. Women also have to go back to work sooner after having children which is making us a more tired nation.

Sextoys.co.uk is urging people to Just Say Yes to their partners to celebrate National Orgasm Day 31st July.

If you would like to win one of the fine T-Shirts, picturd above, you can! In association with A-Rouse.com SexToys.co.uk are giving away 10 of them. All you have to do is answer this question:

How much semen does a man produce when he orgasms?
