Ron Jeremy Attacks Violent Video Games

Posted by Alex | Adult Stars, In The News, New Media | Saturday 16 January 2010 9:38 pm

Ron Jeremy was a huge hit with the attendees at the CES Show in Vegas. Not surprising as it would be difficult to believe that the people at the CES did not wander across to at least one of the AVN show venues.

However while sitting on a discussion panel at the CES Ron Jeremy’s views on Internet porn raised a few eyebrows.

“Parents can block this stuff and need to stop blaming porn for a bad case of parenting,” he went on to say. “Parents should watch what their kids are doing online and take some responsibility. Don’t blame us. We have disclaimers, age notifications and software blockers. We are doing our bit.”

Ron of course is right. When it comes to responsible, legal porn sites they do take their responsibilities seriously because of the purest of motivations. Money. Porn turns over billions of dollars each year and to ensure that law enforcement agencies do not find a reason to shut you down has sound commercial benefits. Despite being the hub of Internet porn The US has some very conservative views, held by people throughout its society, most importantly in the legislature and in law enforcement. Right wing religious groups add their weight to numerous campaigns to pursue porn sites in general so being squeaky clean and exceeding, not just meeting standards set by local laws in good business practice.

Craig gross however did raise a valid point.

“The internet has changed the game completely,” said Gross. “What we used to have to work hard to find, you now have to work hard to avoid. For the most part, kids are smarter about technology than their parents. That has to change.”

The next generation of parents may face the same problems, despite being Internet savvy, because it all comes down to moving the age verification mechanisms on to sites and away from browsers, which a determined teenager will do everything they can to bypass.

Unregulated and sick porn will always be available but the porn industry and governments working together to lock down legal sites and prevent access by under-age visitors frees investigative resources can be focused on the illegal and exploitative purveyors of porn.

Social Network Launches TV and Radio

“Social Network Launches TV and Radio”

Boyzone is one of the fastest growing social networks for gay and bisexual men launched its free to air Television and Radio station this month giving members yet another reason to join the site.  TheBoyZone.com, launched in September 2009, now has in excess of 10,000 users from across the World, making it one of the ONLY free social network sites aimed specifically at gay and bisexual men.

In association with TVPolari, the leading gay broadcasting platform, TheBoyZone.com wanted to bring a fresh approach to the rather ‘old hat’ idea that gay sites should be pay sites.  The Radio and TV station has been launched to attract advertisers that wish to target gay and bisexual men and already the company is in talks with several well known brands.

“We wanted to offer a 100% free site to all our users and bring them some great additional services.” said Danny Lee, founder and Director of TheBoyZone.com.  “With members from over 140 Countries, and growing faster than we could ever have predicted, we are very proud of what we have achieved so far”.

A major breakthrough for TheBoyZone Radio and TV is that it is available via the new set top box straight onto a conventional Television in the same way as Freeview.  “We have the potential to be in half a million homes within the next 12 months which is great for our advertisers” said Danny Lee.”

RIP Playboy Japan

Posted by Alex | In The News, Journalism, New Media | Saturday 3 January 2009 11:01 pm

After 33 years December saw the last edition of the Japanese version of Playboy. Its removal from the newsstands of Japan mirrors the trend across the world where printed publications are disappearing due to the continued squeeze from electronically delivered content.

From and initial print run of the first Japanese edition of 438,000 copies the December 2008 edition had fallen to just serving just 22,000 readers.

The loss of the printed edition of Playboy from another country doesn’t just mean the demise of the icon of male-targeted publications from another country; It puts another nail in the coffin of the art of creating printed magazines.

In the last century magazines went from black and white publications, hand typeset with engraved illustrations to glossy, full-colour publications with first photographs, then fully digitally composed pages. At their best they were an art form. It wasn’t just in their presentation that they defined how we consumed news and features.

By being published at quarterly or monthly intervals they made us wait for each edition and packaged their content in a way that was quite unique. Now, the Internet means you can have an edition every day, or every hour. But how can that compare with a carefully crafted monthly periodical. It lacks permanency.

And there of course is the other point. If you ignore the changes in the content and style of writing that a move to the Web engenders you lose something unique to magazines – the ability to hold it, turn the pages and slip it under the bed to read a day, week, month or decade later.

You could of course join Playboy.com, but I just don’t think that’s quite the same.

The New Asian Babes

Posted by Alex | In The News, New Media | Wednesday 6 August 2008 9:35 pm

Melina ManandharThe rise of Nepali pornography.

Nepal is only just beginning to open its virtual doors to the Internet. Having been effectively isolated for the first decade or so of the revolution that is the World Wide Web, the Nepali judiciary and government has now found itself unable to cope with the opportunities that the web offers to pornographers.

Both from outside the country and within it would appear that the Internet is being used in Nepal for the first thing that many of those who already have access to it use it for – porn.

Webcam and mobile phone videos are appearing on YouTube, well-known Nepalese actresses have had their images Photoshopped onto pornographic images and a teacher was recently convicted of enticing a 13 year old pupil into his bed snapping pictures of her then attempting to blackmail her into having sex with her by threatening to show the images to her parents.

The cyberinsecure.com website reported that the supreme court of Nepal recently had its website hacked and used to host a porn site.

Also, a Dutch tourist videoed himself with a woman from Pokhara who he had a “brief affair” with – now the DVD is available to buy on the Internet.

Then there was the case of the Nepalese man who had a fling with his wife`s friend while they were in Britain and recorded their liaison on his laptop. The PC crashed and the guys in the repair shop thought it would be a great idea to post it on the Internet. This lead to the woman`s father attempting suicide.

Nepal doesn`t seem to be ready for the Internet socially, legally or in a regulatory sense. That`s not the fault of Nepal, but the Web itself. Even in Western societies that have grown accustomed to the Internet as it has developed we often struggled to cope with the power it wields; Sometimes it feels like the Internet is controlling us not the other way round.

Not all the Nepali “porn” on the Internet is as explicit or shocking (at least to our Western eyes) as some of the sensationalist headlines in the Asian press would have you believe. Often it`s softcore or simply suggestive.

But here lies the other problem.

The furore that accompanied the first Internet scandals in Nepal, like the one involving the actress Melina Manandhar`s head being digitally edited onto a nude model`s body, has died away. Is the outrage going to be replaced by a grudging acceptance and allowing any and every kind of sexual act to be explicitly depicted? Only time will tell.

Violent Porn Goes Mainstream In The US

Posted by Alex | Fetish, In The News, New Media, Porn Stars, Sexuality, TV | Thursday 19 June 2008 4:43 pm

The debate about whether or not pornography causes violent behaviour gets an airing on US TV this evening via Penn & Teller`s “Bullshit” show. Not the first people you`d think of to promote a discussion on a subject that polarises opinion in many sections of society. It`ll be interesting to see just how this plays out. Though sadly we will not get the show over in the UK for a while.

The show will feature the representatives from XXXChurch.com and the Family Research Council arguing against porno, and others, including Dr Marty Klein (Author of America`s War On Sex) arguing that there is no proven link between watching porn and violent behaviour.

How much difference this will make in changing the attitudes of those against porn and those in the industry is difficult to tell. The remarkable thing is that it`s being aired at all.

You can see a trailer for the show here.

St Teenycums On TelevisionX

St Teeny Cums

.

.

.

.

I`m a sucker for a Carry On film and St TeenyCums is pretty much the hardcore version. Just don`t expect to see Alastair Sim and George Cole from the original St T’s.This adult title actually has a plot, not that the script will win any gongs, but a plot all the same. Plot synopsis: The headmistress of St T`s is kidnapped and the girls of the St T`s Nypho society receive a ransom note from “the world`s most famous and best looking porn producer with the biggest working cock in the world” – Charlie Briton (played by Ben Dover). The best performance has to be from Ben Dover. His rant about “the state of porn in the UK today” is hilarious. The resourceful nymphos trick their way into the porn king`s studio and jump the porn baron forcing him to have sex with all four of them. As you can imagine he doesn`t take much persuading. In all the porn I`ve watched, and I`ve watched quite a bit of porn, I`ve never seen a movie quite like this one. It`s 30 minutes of silly, fun, vigorous hardcore sex. Everyone gets a turn on each other, the girls with Ben, the girls with each other … you get the idea.If you like school uniforms, well they stay on well into the scenes, they aren`t discarded after a couple of minutes. This title is a light-hearted one and different from scene-based formulaic DVDs that you might rent in all the right ways. Now to an issue that I`ve not yet addressed about streaming video from TelevixionX. Quality. When you`ve got used to DVD quality movies it can be a little off-putting to return to a format that`s not quite the high definition you`ve grown used to. While there are titles on the TelevisionX site that really need to be watched in a small format, this isn`t one of them. It will stand being played full-screen on the 26 inch screen in our bedroom. Granted this isn`t HD, but with the current wrath of the ISPs being directed at the BBC because of the bandwidth consumed by the iPlayer that`s perhaps not such a bad thing. This isn`t iPlayer standard but it is watchable and enjoyable. This illustrates the variety of the movies available on TelevisionX, both in its script and two-fingers-up to the rest of the world playfulness.Plus you get to see Ben Dover in a dress. The CastLolly Bad

Dogging On The Busses

Posted by Alex | New Media, TelevisionX | Sunday 18 May 2008 10:32 pm

Bob GrantIf you want to freak out Suze then put on a Jack Harper (Bob Grant) mask and sneak up behind her. I`m sure Bob was a nice bloke, but she finds his character from On The Busses really creepy. To be honest, even growing up in the 70s I found his lecherous laughs and crude one-liners rather awkward.

Why do I mention this peculiarly British character from a 40 year old comedy show? Because we were taking advantage of our free month of TelevisionX yesterday evening and Suze decided she wanted to watch Dogging Diaries 3/4 … yes that foxed me too, but I think part 3 is the intro by Donna Marie and the fourth part is the bit where her and the clippie get it on, on the top deck.

Yes, clippie. Now to most people these days Clippie is the intensely irritating default help assistant from Microsoft Office. Strangely, to Suze he is the intensely irritating bus conductor from On The Busses. For those of you too young to remember, the clippy was the bloke, or woman on the buss who sold you a ticket. You didn`t buy it from the driver as you do now. The clippy would wander up and down shouting something along the lines of “Any more fares please?”

My own recollection from trips on public transport with my grandfather is of a guy in a peaked cap, with a ticket printing machine around his neck on a worn leather strap. He`d dial up the fare on a series of knurled wheels and issue you with a ticket printed in purple ink on what resembled Izal toilet paper.

Well, let`s put all those memories of carbolic soap and hard toilet paper to bed immediately. And the bit where as a five year old I had to make my way down twenty steps and across a nettle-filled garden to the outside loo, in the dark, when stopping with my Grandparents … yes, let`s forget all that.

Last night`s televisual feast was selected by Suze because it had dogging in the title, no other reason. Dogging is not something that we`ve indulged in but true to our philosophy that we should be open to all forms of sexuality we thought we`d give it a punt.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Unlike some girl-on-girl action that we`ve seen in the past where the models don`t seem too keen on anything but the most cursory of contact with each other`s genitals, Donna Marie and the very willing clippie were more than happy to suck, lick and finger each other without a second thought.

The flimsy and quite frankly disposable “plot” was that she, Donna, didn`t want to ruin her freshly manicured nails being driven to the dogging venue by her usual driver. Why would it ruin her nails? Well you`ll have to watch the video to find out that particular detail, suffice to say that while on the bus Donna has no difficulty in persuading the conductor (clippie) to indulge in a bit of f-f action.

You don`t often see an f-f scene where both girls go at it no holds barred, but this was one of them. Maybe it`s a British thing, but there are no delicate embraces, no mood music, just two girls hard at it and making lots of noise. Did I mention the rest of the (Male) bus passengers are watching?

OK, so the scenario is silly, And the dialogue is daft, but this is porn, not Proust. My only criticism? The clippie isn`t credited. And Suze and myself would be fighting over her as she is soooo dirty.

Strange isn`t it that what is essentially a fantasy video about a random sexual encounter on a bus can be so effective as porn. Perhaps that`s it. It has no pretensions to being erotica, no pretence that the narrative conceals deep subplots and reveals a truth to the viewer thereby enlightening them and enriching them as a human being. Sometimes porn is just porn and to pretend otherwise would be ridiculous.

Dogging diaries 3/4 is well worth a watch, if you like full-on f-f sex. It certainly made me want to see more, perhaps if they had credited the clippy …

Redwordsaid, Erotic Audio Stories For Women

Posted by Suze | Erotic Literature, New Media | Thursday 6 March 2008 8:23 pm

RedwordsaidI tried to going in to this with an open mind. Someone reading erotic stories and not just that, reading them to me at a price? Well, they better be bloody good because I can read them myself I thought. Despite trying to be open I found myself being slightly judgemental from the start, as I suppose you do when someone is offering you something you can normally get for free from a publication.

Well, wasn`t I just proved so wrong!

I clicked the play button whilst sat at my pc and waited for the audio to come online. Still slightly sceptical about exactly how much I would appreciate these stories.

The sound of gentle waves hitting a pebbled shoreline bathed my ears, immediately relaxing me, preparing me for the emotional and aural experience that was about to envelope me.

As the waves broke his voice penetrated my ears. A soft sexy Canadian voice, delicate, gently sexual. His words resonated inside my head and pulled me in within the first couple of minutes of listening. And things just got better and better.

The reader/writer takes time to relax you, encourage you to totally detach from the world around you and put time aside for your own pleasure. He leads you in to the story by the hand, totally focusing his attentions on you. Making you a part of the centre of the storyline.

I listened to two completely different stories but preferred the first one, The Room. It must be the BDSM element of the erotic encounter that thoroughly engaged me.

It took me on a journey, an education if you will … into the wonderfully erotic world of the BDSM fantasy. Until listening to this story I had never really understood the BDSM lifestyle and it`s addictive qualities. Yes, I`ve tried out variations…I`ve been tied up, dominated. Perhaps most of us have toyed with this idea.

This audio took me deeper in to this world than I had ever physically been. It took me through the suspense, the courtship between slave and master and ultimately to the divine state of subspace. “The Room”, clearly describes the feelings and emotions along route to Nirvana a place most subs encounter and embrace.

Being in a “normal”, if there is such a word, relationship it`s nice to be able to experience, even if only in words and imagination the world in which BDSM exists and indeed flourishes. By listening to this story, I did experience submission, or as close as I am going to without physically submitting. Something I`m not quite ready to do. Although, I am seriously thinking about delving that little bit deeper…

Thanks for opening my eyes and I hope others will have the curiosity to take those tentative steps.

Yes, this is an indulgence but you are worth it. It feels like I have a naughty secret love available to entertain and arouse me at my whim. ;)

I will be visiting him again shortly as he informs me that there is going to be a whole series of new BDSM stories posted up for downloading shortly.

Redword stories can be found here.

Lucrezia Magazine – Over the Rainbow & Beyond

Posted by Alex | Art, Erotic Literature, Fantasy, Magazine Reviews, New Media, Photography | Wednesday 6 February 2008 9:42 am

A-Rouse.com, Lucrezia MagazineThe February edition of Lucrezia Magazine is out – According to Anastasia Mavromatis “To the Rainbow and Beyond presents the sexual diversity that existed (and exists) throughout history. Much can be said about the most recent discussions concerning amendments made to the US Constitution to reflect religious standards, and thereby prohibit same-sex marriage, but for this issue, we’ll stick to the positives and do what we do best, and that is to present a diverse collection of fine story telling, art, reviews and articles with a GLBT flavor.”

So what’s in the February Issue?

Art: Lucrezia takes you to Israel. This month you will see artwork from Israeli artist and photographer Raphael Perez. Raphael`s growth as an artist also reflects his personal experiences. His official web site, gaypaintings.com has had 25 million visitors, and grows by the day. His work is arresting, colorful, introspective, optimistic and socially significant.

Fiction: Our diverse selection explores unpredictable encounters, intimate rendezvous`, self-realization and unbridled passions, in many forms. Craig Sorensen adds a theatrical twist in Improvisation, prompting the question: who is the director and who is the actor? Mallory Path explores homoerotic intimacy, using her individual style to magnify heat, passion and libertinage. Claire Litton weaves a story that will tweak with your perception, exploring personal identity, loss and redemption. Kirsten Inani Kasai explores Sapphic passion, giving new meaning to the word ‘flash`; her story is like a bright blue flame, raising the bar for erotic flash fiction. A E Franzen returns this month with an epic tale that explores sexual dysfunction and (sensual) resolution, that will simultaneously resonate and arouse. Amanda Earl explores the resurrection of an older man’s passion and a younger man’s attraction, against the backdrop of Yellowknife mine.

Reviews: Eva Adivar explores the GLBT spectrum of sexcasts. From Evan and Paulie’s Gay Porn Talk, to fabulous Tranny Wreck, there is something for every one. I review a standout erotic anthology: Best Gay Erotica 2008 (Cleis Press), and our updated review of Polly Frost’s book (print and audio), Deep Inside, now includes an audio excerpt.

Articles: This month’s in depth interview with writer, poet and editor Alessia Brio, explores the Coming Together series of philanthropic erotic anthologies. Join Michael Cain as explores reciprocation, sex and the curse of the Ex in his essay Lost on a One-Way Street.
